Halloween Spider Cupcakes

My sister and I made our own Halloween cupcakes this year for the first time with only a litle bit of help from our mum.

We made:

spiders
cobwebs
fangy mosters

We just used a basic cupcake recipe and then made up double the mixture of icing

2 teaspoons of melted butter with 1 cup of icing sugar and ablut a tablespoon of water to get the thickness right.

We split the icing into different bowls to colour it, and then iced the cakes. Tip- to get REALLY bright green icing colour, add a drop of blue food colour in with the green.

Once they were iced we added M and Ms, licorice, chocolate sprinkles and mum put some white icing mixture into a piping bag to do the spiderwebs and eyes on the monsters.

The white icing was a bit runny which made the spiderwebs run a bit but apaprt from that our friends loved them.

Next year we’re going to make even trickier ones, and maybe we can enter the contest again too!
