Tiered New Baby Cake

Tiered New Baby Cake

This was such a fun cake. A friend of mine was having her first baby!

For the bottom I used a 10 inch pan. I made 3 white cakes. I then stacked them – a layer of cake and some Bavarian cream filling and so on. Then I put a coat of buttercream icing over it. I did the same thing for the top only using an 8 inch pan.

In the bottom portion I placed wood dowels before putting the top on to avoid it caving in! After that I did the squares on the bottom out of colored buttercream. I just started going around and hoped that I didn’t have a really small square. Thankfully it worked out.

I bought the little feet in a baby shower package. They are not edible. They were a thick lace type of material. Then I moved to the top and diamonds out of the buttercream. Then I did circles around the middle section out of the left over color.

I bought the baby topper in the cake section and put him on the top surrounded by some drop flowers using a flower tip. I have had so many people ask me to do this cake for them or their friends. I think that I have made 4 versions of this cake now!

I love this cake- it looks like enough to feed loads of people, but all the decorating and the little baby on topn still make it look sweet!

Great job!
No wonder all you friends are asking for their own version of this!
