easter Craft for kids using felt
Felt is a super easy material for creating some cute Easter crafts for your kids to make. We made these simple felt Easter craft bunnies using scraps of felt we had and made them into key rings which make great little Easter gifts without the calories.
If you’ve seen Miffy, then you can see where the inspiration for these cute Spring bunnies comes from.
What you’ll need
- Felt scraps in colors of your choice
- Contrasting cotton
- Stuffing/wadding
We made two of these, one finished with a blanket stitch and one with a dolphin stitch, I think a blanket stitch always gives a neater finish, but the age of your kids will influence which stitch they are more comfortable with.
Instructions
Cut out two matching bunny shapes. Sew on face features to one of the bunnies- we did a simple X for a mouth and a couple of stitches for the eyes.
Match up your two bunny pieces and start stitching around the outside. Once you are about halfway you can start putting some of the stuffing into the bunny. As you get closer to completing your stitching you can finish stuffing your bunny.
As a finishing touch we decided to make out little bunnies into key rings so we stitched a loop onto the back. Voila – adorable handcrafted Easter felt bunny key rings – never lose your keys again and great handcrafted Easter gift that someone can treasure. |
