Beautiful Butterfly Cake

This was a 9″ round, 2 layer strawberry cake. I baked the cakes, added the filling, and stacked them. I then cut it exactly down the middle. Moving the cakes so that the curved edges were side by side, I removed a small triangle on both of the straight edges (creating the wings). One of the triangles was put at the top to create a head.
To decorate, I just frosted it white and added skittles in pastel colors. The pink cake looked so pretty with the candies on the outside. They were a yummy addition as well!
