For the finished cake I made 4 square cakes and cut them down to make the shape of the box.
I placed dowel rods in the corners of the cake to hold it up.

I them covered the cake in white fondant and cut some seperate pieces of fondant to be the box lid and let dry.

I then hand painted the logo on the cake.
To make the food I used an extruder to make noodles.
I used gumpaste to make the shrimp carrots sprouts and snap peas.

I placed the food in the top of the cake
And there you have your chinese takeout cake!

It looks pretty goood but it appears like you could have dirty iced the cake with too much buttercream (which actually turns the side of the fondant which it is touching runny, resulting in the fondant slipping) you’d probably have been better off either using less buttercream (although the sides are slanting inwards, so would most likely have slipped a little too) or buy making the sides from gumpaste- cutting gumpaste panels to size, letting them dry over night, painting the logo on and sticking them too the cake. The lid would have been better done in gumpaste too (it wouldn’t have drooped at all).

That kinda looks like it got stuck in the oven and melted…the red penwork looks good, that’s about it though. Good Try!
