Celebrating your kids birthday under the water- Mermaid Cake

I prepared this theme for my friend’s daughter..
The theme of her party was fish skirts for all the girls..

It was my second attempt to make this beautiful cake when i was finally able to bake it…

The fishes was made separately by brushing them with safe food colors of green, orange, red and yellow colors easily avaialable at any grocery shop.
The pebbles were the simple pebbles in garden painted with metallic poster colors!!!

The base color of the cake is based on the color of water that is sky blue…
If you are unable to get the same color prepare it by mixing some amount of some white icing with navy blue color easily available…

And Yes dont worry how to make that mermaid / Ariel at the top…
Buy it from any toy shop…bt preferably of the color of the birthday girl dress…
Bake the cake in two parts each on 120 degree…after doing icing on the two parts keep the narrower one over the broader one and they will automatically stick to one another…do not apply any extra pressure..

Decorate the cake with fishes, stones, sea plants and mermaid prepared before and wait for the applause from the little ones!!!!!!

I am so glad you liked my cake. We worked very hard on it. The picture above is the cake my mother and I made for my nieces 2nd birthday. If you look closely the biggest rock has my nieces name etched in it. She still has the rock as a keepsake, she just turned 7.
