On The Road Cake

I made this cake for a friend’s 16th birthday party. I decided to give it more of a humorous theme.

It was a 10″ two-layer round cake iced in white buttercream. I did simple top and bottom shell piping. To decorate, I used multi colored buttercream to pipe people on the sides of the cake (with large and small round tips). Then I used my smallest round tip, to make captions in black icing- such as “Look Out!” or “Help!”.

On the top I made a little black round with my round tip, and with yellow and white lines. Then of course we had to put “Josh” on top with a #16 on his shirt, and holding up a little pair of black keys! The inscriptions say “Look Out World!” and “Josh is on the Road!”. I heard it was a big hit at the party. 🙂
